EXTRACTS OF CACAO BEAN AND HUSK WITH INHIBITORY EFFECTS ON CARCINOGENESIS

PURPOSE: An extract of cacao beans and cacao hulls having anticarcinogenic activity is provided. The extract plays an important role in maintaining homeostasis in vivo, increases GJIC(gap junctional intercellular communication) inhibited in malignant progression of cancer and inhibits DNA synthesis of cancer cells. Therefore, it is used as an active ingredient of an anticarcinogenesis agent. CONSTITUTION: The anticarcinogenesis agent preventing and inhibiting cancer contains an extract or a fraction of cocoa beans and cocoa hulls as an active ingredient. The cacao beans and cacao hulls are extracted in 50% acetone, 50% ethanol or 50% methanol. The extract is filled into styrene-based porous absorption resin and washed with a 40% aqueous ethanol solution. The remaining fractions are fractioned with 60% ethanol. For an example, 10g of the extract is mixed with 70g of lactose, 15g of crystalline cellulose and 15g of magnesium stearate and formed into a tablet by a direct tableting method.
