Method for implementing a voice phone-book for the blind and cellular-phone using the same

PURPOSE: A portable phone implementing a voice telephone book for the visually impaired is provided to store caller IDs with names by converting the caller IDs as voices, and to configure a function of making calls, thereby enabling the visually impaired to conveniently make a call with the other party without seeing a display screen. CONSTITUTION: A keypad(210) has protruded braille types, and is composed of the first key button for a voice telephone book, the second key button for searching telephone numbers, and a send button for making calls with the searched numbers. A memory(220) stores converted voice telephone numbers, voice data, callers' names connected to the voice telephone numbers, programs for making calls, and setup information connected to the telephone numbers. When the first key button is performed, a controller(200) informs a voice converter(260) that the voice converter(260) converts a caller's telephone number into a voice, and stores the voice telephone number and the caller's name in the memory(220). If the second key button is performed, the controller(200) outputs the caller's name and the voice telephone number. A CID(Caller ID) detector(250) detects a call including a caller ID from telephone calls transmitted from an external telephone, informs the controller(200) of the call, and transmits the call to the voice converter(260). The voice converter(260) converts the detected caller ID into a voice telephone number.
