PURPOSE: A method for removing skull using dead load of skull by inducing slag forming during converter blowing operation, thereby coating slag on the surface of skull stuck to oxygen blowing lance so that cracks are generated in skull by thermal expansion difference of lance surface/skull/slag coating layer is provided. CONSTITUTION: In a converter operation method for performing blowing as blowing oxygen into hot metal charged into converter through lance, the converter operation method comprises the steps of increasing flow rate of oxygen blowing and ascending height of the lance to induce slag forming in the furnace; and coating slag on the surface of skull stuck to the lance by reducing the flow rate of oxygen blowing and descending the height of the lance if there are any signs of slopping during the induction process of the slag forming, wherein the flow rate of oxygen blowing and the height of the lance are returned to the original state after maintaining the oxygen blowing flow rate and lance height for 5 to 15% of blowing time by increasing the oxygen blowing flow rate and lance height by the range of 5 to 15% compared with before at a time point of 60% or more after blowing initiation.
