AT .Driving Aparatus and Method of New Power Steering System using of High OIL Pressure of Auto Transmission

PURPOSE: A driving unit and method of a new power steering system, using high oil pressure of an AT(Automatic Transmission) is provided to improve maintainability, reduce the weight, reduce the cost, and improve engine output. CONSTITUTION: In a driving unit and method of a new power steering system(50), using high oil pressure of an AT(10), power is transmitted to an AT, oil of the AT is sent to an oil-cooling system(20) of a radiator, to cool oil, and then oil is resent to a regulator(30), to keep uniform pressure in the oil-cooling system. A control system(EPS,40) is constructed to perform handling under optimum condition according to the driving state of a vehicle. Oil is resent to a cylinder of the steering system, to operate a steering wheel(80). The cylinder is connected to right and left tie rods(60), to conveniently operate the steering wheel. Oil cycles continuously. Thus, efficiency is improved by using high oil pressure of the AT and the cost is reduced by the simplified structure.
