PURPOSE: An anti-icing apparatus is provided to achieve improved passenger comfort by increasing stability of the air conditioner and preventing icing of the surface of the evaporator during operation of the air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: An anti-icing apparatus comprises a blower unit(104) arranged at an end of an air conditioner for a vehicle, which includes a blower fan for air flow; and an evaporator unit(100) for converting the air blowing from the blower unit into cold air. The evaporator unit includes an evaporator(106) for performing heat exchange between the air blowing from the blower unit and the cold refrigerant; a compressor(114) for compressing refrigerant; a temperature sensor(110) for sensing the surface temperature of the evaporator; a controller(112) for controlling operation of the air conditioner in accordance with the signal output from the temperature sensor; a speed sensor(118) for sensing the velocity of the air being discharged from the evaporator; and a blow hole(116) for discharging cold or hot air into the passenger compartment.
