PURPOSE: Provided is the use of an eremophilan-based compound and an extract of Ligularia fischeri (Ledeb.) Turcz., as a therapeutic agent for inflammatory diseases and immune-associated diseases. They specifically inhibit activity of NO and prostaglandin E2 and is thus used as an agent for treatment of arthritis, endotoxemia, inflammation, autoimmune disease. CONSTITUTION: An NF-B inhibitor, NO or prostaglandin E2 inhibitor and a therapeutic agent for arthritis, endotoxemia, inflammation, autoimmune disease contain furanoligularenone of formula(1) or an eremophilan-based compound of formula(2 and 3) as an active ingredient. The eremophilan-based compound is obtained by extracting Ligularia fischeri (Ledeb.) Turcz. in C1-4 alcohol, followed by purification. For an example, 4.2kg of Ligularia fischeri (Ledeb.) Turcz. is extracted in 10L of methanol three times and extracted under reduced pressure to give 120g of an extract. The extract is extracted in 3L of methanol and 4L of dichloromethane to give 75g of an extract. And the extract is subjected to silica gel column chromatography one time to give a fraction.
