PURPOSE: A device for interworking with a remote system of an ATM private exchange through LAN(Local Area Network)/WAN(Wide Area Network) is provided to interwork a remote system connected to the LAN/WAN with an ATM private switching system through Ethernet, thereby using the interworked system as one system. CONSTITUTION: A main node(300) comprises as follows. A CPM(Central Processor Module)(310) performs an OAM(Operation And Maintenance) process in a system. An LSM(Line Subscriber Module)(320) converts a 64Kbps PCM voice into an ATM cell. A CSM(Central Switch Module)(330) switches the ATM cell inside of the system. An IWM(Inter Working Module)(340) connects 10BT/100BT or Gigabit Ethernet. The CSM(330) is connected to each block(310,320,340) by a 155Mbps UTP5 or an optical link.
