PURPOSE: A device and method for repairing a branch pipe by using a self-propelled vehicle is provided to firmly adhere a repairing seat to a branch pipe by using the double compression of a cylinder and a pneumatic tube. CONSTITUTION: A running unit(110) has a box-shape body(111) and a plurality of wheels(112). A lamp(114) and a camera(113) are installed at the upper part of the body. A feeding unit(120) is formed at the front of the running unit, and has an upper/lower feeding unit(122) formed at both sides of a rotary unit(121), and an air pressure supply unit formed at the center of the rotary unit. A repairing unit(130) has a cylinder(138) coupled with the upper/lower feeding unit, and a pneumatic tube(133). The repairing unit adheres a repairing seat(134) to a branch pipe by the driving of the cylinder and the expansion of the pneumatic tube, and prevents a water leakage.
