PURPOSE: A technique of securing a device using IEEE 1394 is provided to control the operation and signal system of chips constructing the IEEE 1394 device through a micro-controller set in the device to protect data and offer information to the authorized users. CONSTITUTION: A micro-controller installed inside a device using IEEE 1394 controls chips that construct IEEE 1394 to regulate signals transmitted and received among the chips and physical cables to secure the device. A security algorithm is included in a flash memory. The micro-controller controls at least one of a system clock and a cable power system pin.
