A Technique for Specifying Style Information of XML Document Using FOX Style

PURPOSE: An XML document's extensible style designation method is provided to simultaneously display an XML document and a style sheet document on one screen by using a WYSIWYG method. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. An XML document(1) is constructed by describing data between a start tag and an end tag while the tags are specially expressed for being discriminated from the data. A style sheet document(2) is constructed by setting style data of the XML document(1) such as a font size, a font colour, a font shape, a graphic or a document movement. An XML parser(3) converts the tag values of the XML document(1), and stores the contents of the XML document(1). A FOX style(4) stores the style data of the style sheet document(2). An HTML converter(5) converts the XML parser(3) and the FOX style(4) into the HTML type. A CSS(Cascading Style Sheets)/XSL(eXtensible Style Language) converter(6) converts the FOX style(4) into the CSS and the XSL.
