ILLEGAL DHCP SERVER CONTROL METHOD

PURPOSE: A method for controlling a private DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server is provided to automatically search a private DHCP server, and not to use a function of the searched DHCP server, thereby reducing damage to other users. CONSTITUTION: A system inputs an IP address of an approved DHCP server of a network(S100). The system broadcasts an ARP(Address Resolution Protocol) request packet to obtain an MAC address(S110). The system maps the obtained MAC address with the IP address in a table(S120). The system broadcasts a DHCP discover packet to detect a DHCP server(S130). The system extracts an IP address from a DHCP offer packet to compare the extracted IP address with the IP address of the DHCP server, and decides whether the DHCP server is a private DHCP server(S140). If the IP addresses are not the same, the system unicasts a false ARP answer packet to the private DHCP server(S150). The system disables a function of the private DHCP server(S160).
