Color signal processing device capable of storing color gamut efficiently and method using the same

PURPOSE: A method and a device for efficiently storing color band, and processing color signal are provided to reduce storage capacity of a memory necessary for storing a color band. CONSTITUTION: A calculator(41) calculates brightness, saturation, and colors of input R, G, and B signals. A coordinate storage unit(43) stores predetermined coordinates formed of brightness and the saturation according to the colors classified by predetermined levels. A color band deciding unit(45) decides a color band of a display displaying the inputted R, G, and B signals. The color band deciding unit derives coordinates corresponding to the colors calculated from the coordinate storage unit, and decides ranges of displayable brightness and saturation of the display based on the derived coordinates. A signal processor(47) processes the inputted R, G, and B signals within the decided color band.
