PURPOSE: A method for preparing metal amino acid complex powder is provided, thereby increasing the reaction yield of metal amino acid complex powder using a small amount of water, increasing water absorption and simplifying the post-treatment process. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing metal amino acid complex powder comprises the steps of: heating 27 to 92 parts by weight of water with agitation, and adding metal oxide into the water; adding 0.5 to 2.8 parts by weight of water-soluble polymer into the metal oxide dissolved solution after completely dissolving metal oxide, adding methionine into the mixture, and reacting them at 60 to 98 deg. C; and sending the reaction resulting mixture to a blender type dryer and drying the mixture by circulation of water-removed air, wherein the metal oxide is zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate or copper sulfate; the methionine is L-methionine or DL-methionine; and the water-soluble polymer is selected from carboxymethylcellulose, oxidized starch, sodium alginate, polyvinylalcohol, polyacrylate, polyacrylamide, polyvinylpyrrolidone and polyethyleneoxide.
