PURPOSE: An apparatus for delaying frosting of a window type heat pump air conditioner is provided to improve an efficiency of heating operation by delaying frosting time by reducing air flow discharged into a room and increasing an evaporation temperature. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for delaying frosting of a window type heat pump air conditioner includes an air flow control element for reducing an air flow introduced into a heat exchanger of an indoor unit to increase a condensation temperature in heating mode, wherein the air flow control element includes an air flow control louver(52) mounted at an air discharge hole for varying an area of the discharge hole, and a power transmitting element connected to a cooling and heating mode conversion switch(53) of a control part and the louver for changing a position of the louver in association with a rotation of the switch, wherein the power transmitting element has a cylindrical body(54) formed with a helical gear at an outer periphery and mounted at a shaft(55) of the louver for rotating in association with the switch, and a manipulation piece(53') formed below the switch to be inserted in the helical gear for rotating the cylindrical body.
