The present invention can modulate gastrin and cholecystokinin (CCK) hormones in mammals by exhibiting agonist activity on the CCK-A receptor, thereby allowing them to be used as medicaments for appetite suppressants in appetite control, treatment of obesity and maintenance of weight loss. It relates to a benzodiazepine compound of general formula (I).
