EXTRACTION OF GROWTH HORMONE RELEASING FACTOR FROM NATURAL MEDICINAL PLANTS AND WATER-SOLUBLE PHLOMIDIS RADIX EXTRACT

PURPOSE: A method of extraction of a growth hormone releasing factor by extracting natural medicinal plants such as Phlomidis Radix in water and then adding lower alcohol to remove solid impurities after filtering is provided. The water-soluble Phlomidis Radix has high content of effective ingredients and thus can be used in various fields related with a growth hormone releasing function as well as cosmetic raw material and beverage additives. CONSTITUTION: Phlomidis Radix is extracted with water and then added with 35 to 75% methanol or ethanol after filtering to remove solid impurities. In addition to the above process, the filtered Phlomidis Radix is fractioned with at least one organic solvent selected from n-butanol, secondary butanol, tertiary butanol, isobutanol, tetrahydrofuran, n-propyl alcohol and isopropyl alcohol.
