A composition for flame retarding polyolefin foams with ground tire rubber and its manufacturing method

PURPOSE: A flame retardant polyolefin foam composition and its preparation method are provided to obtain a product with good flame retardancy and mechanical properties by recycling ground tire rubber and by using little or no pollutant halogenated compound. CONSTITUTION: The polyolefin foam composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a resin component; 100-180 parts by weight of a flame retardant component; and common additives. The resin component comprises 50-100 parts by weight of a nitrile rubber, 10-30 parts by weight of poly(vinyl chloride) or chlorinated polyethylene, 0-100 parts by weight of an ethylene-propylene copolymer, and 1-50 parts by weight of ground tire rubber powder; or comprises 50-100 parts by weight of at least one selected from the group consisting of a nitrile rubber, a natural rubber, a styrene rubber and an ethylene-propylene copolymer, 0-80 parts by weight of polyethylene, and 1-50 parts by weight of ground tire rubber powder. The flame retardant component comprises 10-100 parts by weight of Al(OH)3; 30-90 parts by weight of Mg(OH)2; 5-50 parts by weight of Sb2O3; and 5-20 parts by weight of yellow soil.
