PURPOSE: Provided are an antifungal Helicosporium sp. strain, LCLK99 (deposit No. KCTC 0635BP) and a biological control method of plant pathogen using the strain. The Helicosporium sp. LCLK99 strain is isolated from the branch of a chestnut tree and has good antifungal properties to Rhizoctonia Solani and Rhizoctonia Solani AG2-2. CONSTITUTION: A biological control method of pest is characterized by treating plant pathogens with the culture filtrate of the LCLK99 strain using a foliar spray or a seed dip. The method is accomplished by the following steps of: isolating and identifying Helicosporium sp. LCLK99 strain; assaying antibacterial effect by inoculating the disc of LCLK99 strain colony into PDA medium followed by culturing at 25C for 5 days, inoculating the disc of Rhizoctonia Solani (cucumber), Rhizoctonia Solani AG2-2, Fusarium oxysporium and Phytopthora dreschsler colony thereinto and measuring the clean zone; assaying antibacterial effect according to concentration gradient by inoculating Rhizoctonia Solani (cucumber), Rhizoctonia Solani AG2-2, Fusarium oxysporium into PDA medium containing culture filtrate of Helicosporium sp. LCLK99 strain in various concentration and measuring viability of hyphae; assaying the antibacterial effect according to the concentration gradient and time-dipping by time dipping Rhizoctonia Solani colony in PDA medium comprising culture filtrate of Helicosporium sp. LCLK99 strain in various concentration and measuring the growth of hyphae; assaying the control effect on Rhizoctonia Solani AG2-2 by spraying the culture filtrate.
