FIELD: waste water treatment. SUBSTANCE: trade or domestic waste waters are cleaned by means of floating plants, for example a specimen of higher aquatic plants. Floating plant is placed in nutrition solution at positive ambient air and solution temperature. Ambient air temperature is maintained at the level of at least +16 C and temperature of nutrition solution within a range of +15 to +36 C. Nutrition solution is constituted by polluted water with pH 5-9 and the following initial contents of pollutants, mg/l: ammonia nitrogen 200, phosphates 18, iron 22, alkali 17, surfactant 14, sulfides 21, petroleum derivatives 25, phenols 340, suspended substances 1500, biochemical oxygen demand no higher than 1000 mg O2/l and chemical oxygen demand no higher than 2000 mg O2/l. Plants are subjected to additional artificial illumination by green-red spectrum lamps with power at least 300 W/sq.m for at most 14 h a day, preferably between 5 and 19 o'clock. During a cold season, plants are covered with light-transparent film enhancing red spectrum constituent. One performs periodically non-draught aeration in the space under film. Air under film is additionally warmed, e.g. by the aid of heating fans. Temperature conditions under film are maintained by forming moistening layer in the form of artificial irrigation or air-sol "blanket". Polluted waters are additionally warmed or cooled. EFFECT: created conditions for year-round adaptation of plants and optimized conditions for effectively cleaning polluted water. 11 cl
