FIELD: biotechnology, molecular biology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of determination of internal standard for quantification of DNA by method of competitive polymerase chain reaction. Method involves DNA cloning distinguishing by size from DNA to be isolated but amplifying with the same primers as assayed DNA that can be isolated from E. coli cells. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is performed at decreased annealing point that results to formation of nonspecific reaction products that differ from DNA to be assayed by their length size and used as internal standard in PCR.
