STRAIN OF BACTERIUM PSEUDOMONAS EXTREMIORIENTALIS AS PRODUCER OF VISCOSIN-LIKE SURFACE-ACTIVE PEPTIDE

FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology, ecology. SUBSTANCE: The strain is isolated from drinking water of natural reservoir (Bogatinskoye reservoir, Primorsky region) by method of direct sowing on trypticase soybean agar. The strain is stored in the Collection of marine microorganisms of Pacific Ocean Institute of bioorganic chemistry DVO RAN at number KMM 3447 and deposited in Belgium collection of microorganisms at number LMG 19695. Experiments by DNA/DNA hybridization with the strain KMM 3447 with phylogenetically relates type strains allowed to identify the strain 3447 as the novel species Pseudomonas extremiorientalis. Viscosin- -like peptide produced by the strain of bacterium Pseudomonas extremiorientalis shows surface-active properties and being surfactant provides to carry out biotreatment of soil and water pollution with the enhanced effectiveness and without accumulation of environment due to the complete utilization by bacterial decomposition with synthetic surface-active substances.
