FIELD: continuous casting of slabs in plants with curvilinear axis. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding metal into mold; drawing slab from it at variable speed; straightening slab from curvilinear position to horizontal; holding and guiding slab along technological axis by means of length-separated roller semisections provided with frameworks, arranged on opposite wide faces of slab and mounted on supports limiting their motion relative to wide faces of slab; feeding slag mixture to mold; in horizontal portion of technological axis holding slab along its upper face and guiding it due to engaging with said face rollers of respective upper roller semisection by its own gravity. Plant for performing the method includes mold, supporting and guiding length-separated roller semisections arranged under mold. Semisections have frameworks with rollers resting upon stationary supports with possibility of motion of upper semisections relative to said supports by means of screw joints; and drive rolls. On horizontal portion of plant between frameworks of upper roller semisections and respective stationary supports there is gap whose value is determined according to given relation.
