FIELD: anthropology, biomechanics, bionics. SUBSTANCE: the suggested innovation could be applied in constructing orthopedic devices and apparatuses and for forensic diagnostics and personal identification. The method deals with measuring morphometric parameters of fingers. With the help of slide gage and ruler one should measure lengths of distal, middle and proximal phalanges of fingers. Measurements are conducted both along rear and volar sides of wrist. Then one should measure width, thickness and circumference of distal phalanx. Then comes measurement of length, maximum projection width, true maximum width of visible part of nail's body, height and projection width of visible part of nail's body alveolus. As a result, it is possible to detect borders for altered quantitative parameters of fingers and their distal phalanges, determine morphological types of fingers and apply the data obtained in studying biomechanics of fingers and wrist.
