METHOD FOR DETERMINING RECEPTIVE NEURON FIELDS PASS BAND OF VISUAL SYSTEM

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves showing light flickers of given initial frequency to a testee. Then the incremental frequency as increased initial one and decremental frequency as reduced initial one are shown in turn with predefined constant exposure time. Difference of frequencies shown to the testee is varied until the testee determines frequency discrimination threshold. The difference of frequencies is increased until the testee determines supraliminal value of the discrimination zone for decremental and incremental frequencies at the first measurement stage. The difference of shown light flickers frequencies determined at the first stage is successively reduced and increased at lower rate until the testee determines threshold value of the discrimination zone for the shown frequencies at the second stage. Receptive neuron fields spatial-frequency channel pass band is determined as the threshold value recorded at the second measurement stage. EFFECT: simplified procedure for making measurements; eliminated disturbances caused by orientation, brightness and dimensions of visual stimuli shown under natural conditions.
