The magnetic field concentator (1) has an opening (2) for the part to be formed and this has a radial slot (2). The concentrator also has a second opening and this has a larger diameter (4) and intersects with the first. The second opening receives an insert as a field displacer (6) and is of metal with a high electrical conductivity, e.g. copper aluminium. The insert is isolated from the part to be formed by a surface coating of lacquer.
