Production of a layer system consisting of a porous substrate, a porous anode functional layer and an electrolyte layer comprises mixing anode material powder and a solvent to form a sprayable mixture, spraying the mixture onto the substrate and drying, applying an electrolyte layer on the dry anode functional layer, and sintering. Preferred Features: The sprayable mixture has a solids content of at least 50 g/l. The applied anode material powder mixture is dried under normal pressure. Sintering is carried out without previous intermediate calcination.
