Production of a thin coated flat glass comprises applying a functional coating or mechanical support layer made from metal, metal oxide or plastic onto flat glass; and adhering by thermally treating using electromagnetic radiation with active parts in the near infrared, especially in the wavelength region of 0.8-1.5 micro m and/or having an irradiance of more than 150 kW/m2. An Independent claim is also included for a device used for the production of a thin coated flat glass.
