The operating and/or observing method uses an additional function block (9) provided within the installation control monitoring device (4), with a communication interface inserted between the monitoring device or a monitoring function block (8) and the associated operating devices (6,7), for evaluating the information for the latter and allowing it to be displayed directly. An Independent claim for a device for operating and/or observing an installation control monitoring device is also included.
