Use of a ceramic-like material obtained from a liquid precursor as an oxidation-protection layer for carbon powders or porous carbon elements. Independent claims are also included for: (i) a carbon body consisting of a porous carbon element (1) with an oxidation-protection layer (2) of a ceramic-like material; and (ii) production of the body by pyrolysis of a liquid precursor to form the ceramic-like oxidation-protection layer (2).
