Decontamination of water containing traces of As, Mn and Fe is effected by removing the Mn and Fe with a bioadsorber and selectively removing the As with an inorganic adsorber. Also included is an Independent claim for apparatus for decontaminating water comprising two chromatographic columns (1,2), one containing a bioadsorber for removing Fe and Mn and one containing an inorganic adsorber for removing As.
