The sample platform has a geometric structure-stabilizing device (8) reducing the ratio of the useful volume to edge volume. Preferred Features: The oven is especially a transversely heated graphite tube oven. The sample platform is integrated in the heating tube. The sample platform is formed from a graphite base material having a pyrolytically applied surface coating. The geometric structure-stabilizing device is formed by a reduction in the platform length (9) of 10-40, preferably 15-35, especially 20-30%.
