The wiper blade (10) has a removeable element (34) to protect the wiper lip (32). The protective element consists of the same material as the wiper blade, and is connected to it. The protective element has a cross section profile adapted to that of the wiper lip, and is connected to a part of it via a thin seam (36,38) with perforations on the side away from the window. The protective element is of thin-walled elastomer and fastened to wiper wedge (30) and/or wiper lip via an adhesive foil. The element is of a different color from the wiper lip, so that it can be recognized and removed before vehicle hand-over.
