The device has a motor (12) with a mains-independent energy source and an associated control and regulation unit. A lock unit (18,38) locks the control and/or motor current circuit in an operating setting in which the motor can be operated and in a setting in which it cannot be operated. A holding unit holds the lock unit in the operating position when it has been changed from the non-operating position during a holding period.
