Fermentative preparation of D-pantothenic acid useful in human medicine involves over-expressing at least one nucleotide sequence coding for genes involved in production of pantothenic acid in a microorganism
Preparation of D-pantothenic acid and/or its alkaline earth salt by fermentation of microorganisms of Bacillus group involves: (1) Enhancing at least one nucleotide sequence, coding for the serA gene, serC gene, ywpJ-ORF or glyA gene in the microorganisms; (2) Concentrating the D-pantothenic acid and/or its salts in the fermentation broth or in the cells of the microorganisms; and (3) Isolating the products. Preparing D-pantothenic acid and/or its alkaline earth salt or feedstuffs additive containing them by fermentation of microorganisms of Bacillus group, already having the capacity to produce D-pantothenic acid involves: (1) Enhancing (preferably over-expressing), in the microorganisms at least one nucleotide sequence, which codes for the serA gene, serC gene, ywpJ-ORF or glyA gene; (2) Concentrating the D-pantothenic acid and/or its salt in the fermentation broth or in the cells of the microorganisms; and (3) Isolating the desired products, the biomass and/or further constituents of the fermentation broth left in the product or optionally separated off completely or in part (0 - 100)%.
