The impact plate flow meter has an inclined feed chute (2) and a vertical baffle plate (3) connected to a force measurement device (4) for detecting the horizontal impact force. A contactless speed measurement device (5) is provided on the baffle plate for determining the impact speed of the bulk material flow (1). AN Independent claim is also included for the following: a method of measuring the mass flow of bulk material.
