Method for identifying clothing items (1) whereby a storage unit (2) attached to the clothing item contains data relating to the item such as price, size, washing details, etc. The data can be read using a read unit (3) and processed in a processing unit (5), prior to output in some other format. Independent claims are made for an arrangement of identifying clothing items comprising an electronic label or storage unit attached to the item that can be read by an appropriate reading unit and the storage unit itself.
