The device has a loading station (2) for supplying the gear wheels and a smoothing station (3) for polishing off the rough edges from the toothed flanks. A test station (5) checks the finishing degree and an unloading station (6) discharges the finished wheels. These stations are arranged around a rotary transport device (1) which moves the gear wheels from one station to another. The test station has an associated control to either move the gear wheel on for discharge or back for re-machining.
