Method for control of injurious arthropods and/or helminths by treating an affected plant, animal, surface or substrate with at least one substituted propargylamine (I) or its N-oxide and/or salt. Method for control of injurious arthropods and/or helminths by treating an affected plant, animal, surface or substrate with at least one substituted propargylamine of formula R1-C?=C-A-NR2R3 (I) or its N-oxide and/or salt. R1 = aryl or heteroaryl, both optionally with one or more, same or different substituents; A = CR4R5 or CO; R4 = H or alkyl; R5 = H or hydrocarbyl; and NR2R3 = N-heterocyclyl or N-heteroaryl residue (both optionally substituted). Independent claims are also included for: (1) New compounds (I; NR2R3 = optionally substituted piperidino), their salts and/or N-oxides, provided that when piperidino is unsubstituted or 4-substituted by optionally substituted alkyl, then R1 is not 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl; (2) preparation of (I); and (3) seeds treated or coated with (I) or compositions containing them.
