Method for controlling motor vehicle air conditioning (1) in which settings are adjusted by a user with an input device (5), sensor devices (6) are used for measurement of input values and a climate controller (4) uses the input values to determine settings for the air conditioning. Brightness sensors or photocells (8, 11), suitably positioned within the vehicle to detect incident radiation, are used to measure incident sunlight.
