Method for visualizing the result of a comparison between two or more lists of folders or files on a monitor (2). Accordingly the lists are arranged in a similar hierarchical manner so that structure and content differences can be compared. The result of the comparison is presented as a single folder and file list in which structure and content differences are clearly marked using defined graphical markings. An Independent claim is made for data processing device for determining differences between file and folder data structures organized in a hierarchical tree structure.
