Injection of plastic material into a mold cavity (8) is effected by both a plasticizing screw (3) and a follow-up pressure unit (11). For part of the injection cycle both systems act simultaneously. An Independent claim is made for the process equipment including a tool with one or more cavities, a plasticizing screw, a follow-up pressure unit and a control unit which enables both injection systems to act simultaneously.
