The high pressure reservoir has an outer sleeve (2) enclosing the storage volume (4), with high pressure connections (8,9,10) coupled to the latter. Flanges (5,6) are provided at the ends of the outer sleeve having sealing surfaces (19) cooperating with sealing surfaces (20) of the outer sleeve for sealing the storage volume, when the facing sealing surfaces are pressed into contact by tightening a compression rod (11,12,13).
