Medical system architecture with local archive management in digital image systems

Images are acquired with associated devices for processing and local time limited storage of images with an image system, a data and image transmitter and central image storage/archive systems for unlimited storage of data and images. The image system has a local archive manager for all examinations carried out with no time limit that stores the archive destination of all images in the central systems. The arrangement has at least one arrangement for acquiring examination images with associated devices for processing and local time limited storage of the images with an image system, a device for transmitting data and images and central image storage and archiving systems (10) for unlimited storage of the data and images with a number of archive memories (19). The image system (15) has a local archive manager (17) for all examinations carried out with no time limit that stores the archive destination of all images in the central systems when archiving.
