The docking unit is connected to the central unit by standard connections, and/or the container is connected to the docking unit by standard connections. Independent claims are also included for a docking unit, for a container, and for a process for operating the above modular service center. Preferred Features: The central unit provides infrastructure for operation of the service center, e.g. electricity, fresh and waste water, heating and ventilation, air-conditioning, and telecommunications. The central unit has at least one closable side wall for connecting a docking unit.
