The motor has a rotor, a winding (4) and a weakly magnetic short circuit ring (2). The stationary winding consists of sections in the air gap and whose axial extent coincides with that of the short circuit ring. Each section runs between first and second edges of the ring at an angle to the rotation axis (27) and back at the opposite angle and so on until 360 degrees have been covered.
