Cosmetic O/W gel emulsions comprises (wt.%): (A) hydrocolloids (0.25-1.5) comprising: (1) hydroxyethylcellulose; (2) xanthan gum; and (3) 'Carbomer' at respective ratios a : b : c where a, b and c are rational numbers 1-5, with b also being 0; (B) other components comprising: (i) lipids (3-20%); (ii) nonionic or anionic emulsifiers of HLB 8-16 (maximum 1.5%); and (iii) diastereomers of menthol and/or menthol itself.
