The surface is based on an elastically deformable under-layer (62) that deforms when a workpiece is place on it and resumes its original state when it is removed. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a corresponding non-destructive testing device with an inventive carrier; (2) a method for non-destructive testing of workpieces using the inventive carrier.
