Internal combustion engine with common rail injection system, has device for increasing rail pressure in defined mode as servo unit in second fuel feed path parallel to first from fuel tank to rail
The engine has a common rail injection system for injecting fuel into its combustion chambers. The system has a first fuel feed path (12) for feeding fuel from a fuel tank (3) to the rail (7), at least one high pressure pump for compressing the fuel in the first path and a device for increasing the rail pressure during a defined mode of operation is a servo unit (16) in a second fuel feed path (13) parallel to the first from the fuel tank to the rail. AN Independent claim is also included for a method of controlling an internal combustion engine.
