The system (1) has a pre-feed pump (7) controlling diesel-fuel (4) to a high-pressure pump (11) that controls the fuel to a common-rail (12). The fuel is conveyed to the pre-feed pump, volume-flow-regulating valve (8) and the high-pressure pump over a control valve (3). Leak-proof injectors (17) are connected to the common-rail, and a pressure relief valve (13) leads back the fluid during exceeding a reaction pressure in fuel flow before the pre-feed pump. The pressure relief valve leads back the fuel during exceeding the reaction pressure before the control valve. An independent claim is also included for a method for driving a common-rail-fuel injection system.
