The seal, and especially for the drive shaft at a differential housing, has a sealing lip at the shaft ring seal (1) which is shaped as a second sealing lip (4). The first sealing lip (6) is against a sealing edge (7) in a primary setting before the drive shaft is installed, to rest against a housing sealing surface parallel to the drilling through the differential housing. When the shaft is fitted, the sealing lip is lifted (8) from the housing sealing surface into a second setting. The seal lifter is a projection (9) on the side towards the drive shaft, between the two sealing edges (5,7).
